Prince Manufacturing Co. was established to supply colorants and additives to the North American brick industry.
1850s
Ferro Enameling Co. was formed to sell frit and service products.
1920s
The Colortrend Group was founded to supply colorant technology to the industrial and decorative coatings markets.
Ferro perfected a safer and more efficient frit-making process and created the first gel coat, a durable plastic coating that became the standard construction material for boats.
1950s
The Colortrend Group introduced a decorative point-of-sale (POS) color system featuring take-home color chips for consumers.
Ferro entered the glass color market and the high-temperature ceramic industry.
1960s
1970s
Plasticolors Inc. was formed and offered the first liquid colorants for thermoset plastics.
Innovatint POS software technology and low volatile organic compound colorants for POS tinting were introduced.
1990s
2000s
Prince acquired the assets of American Minerals, a supplier of engineered additives and raw material solutions to diverse end-markets.
The Colortrend Group merged with Plasticolors to form Chromaflo Technologies. Chromaflo introduced high bio-based content colorants for industrial coatings and plastics.
2010s
Prince became a world leader in manganese chemicals with the acquisition of Erachem manganese chemicals business.

Prince, Ferro and Chromaflo Technologies came together under Vibrantz Technologies Inc.
