Organic Inks and Coatings

The hydrocont line of organic water-based coatings offers heavy metal-free glass decoration that exhibits good mechanical properties with the highest abrasion and scratch resistance combined with excellent resistance against water and alcohol.

Its good mechanical properties with an additional resistance to a large number of fillings provides a high assurance of safe handling during filling and transportation. Easy to use, hydrocont can be applied by conventional methods or by electrostatic finishing.  The one-pack version is cured at a temperature range of 170°C to 190°C while offering a high process reliability.

Developed to work within a wide application window so that even complex shapes such as cognac bottles can be coated without trouble, hydrocont coatings enable a highly aesthetic packaging finish that positively influences the consumer purchasing decision.

Coatings made with hydrocont are hardly distinguishable from pigmented glass due to the many special effects that are available. From highly transparent and brilliant to mat and opaque, hydrocont provides a nearly limitless color range that is naturally free of heavy metals.

Vibrantz HTP (hot melt) organic inks are opaque screen process inks available in solid thermoplastic form for multi-print and over-print container glass decoration.  Available in a wide range of standard colors, the SpecTruLite™ line of hot melt organic inks deliver durable and vibrant designs with superior glass adhesion. We also offer other ink options, including CMYK-equivalent inks, special effect inks, metallic effects inks and frosts, and many existing commercial brand color matches.

Our hot melt organic inks are a ready-to-use, single-component formulation designed for multi-print glass decoration and do not require a white underlayer, which can reduce the total amount of white color necessary for decoration and yield cost savings.  As these inks cure at a lower temperature than ceramic inks, less energy is used for heating. They can also be used on the existing printing machines and equipment already used with traditional inorganic glass enamels.

SpecTruLite™ hot melt organic inks dry immediately after printing, allowing the next print to be instantly applied when using a high-speed multi-color decoration machine.

We offer croco effect GLE110, a one-component waterborne organic coating system that offers a glossy high-quality decorative look of crack formation on glass. This decorative crack illusion can be controlled by varying the coating parameters and can be reproduced as desired.

As adjustment for better resistance, coated objects can be decorated with our hydro organic glass coating systems including hydroglasur, hydrodecor, hydrocos and hydrocont. Our latest green formulations are being used for wine and beer bottles, tableware, stemware, decorative vases and votives. These new products conform with REACH regulations, as well as EC and OSHA packaging directives and standards.

Vibrantz offers asphalt effect water-based environmentally friendly surface coatings that provide an asphalt-like visual effect to glass. Almost every rough haptic and hue can be adjusted by the asphalt effect coating, delivering the look and feel of asphalt.

All Vibrantz waterborne special effect coatings offer low-VOC and bisphenol A (BPA)-free coating options; these technologies can be readily exchanged as needed as a service to of all our customers worldwide.

The 95 series is a heavy metal-free one-component system of organic waterborne coatings specially formulated for the North American market for use in dip coating and spray application for the decoration of glass containers such as cosmetic and beverage bottles.

Using our inter-mixable base system, these waterborne coatings are available in a wide range of colors, providing decorators with an almost infinite number of colors for innovative design.

The 95 series has good adhesion and is available with various decorative effects that include: transparent, frost, metallic, pearlescent, fluorescent, UV-protective, glossy or matte finishes.

Our 3D effect waterborne coatings are ideal in enabling individual decorative solutions for challenging designs for glass products making them more beautiful, decorative, and functional.

3D effect hydroglaslack coating exhibits a special feature due to its uniquely magnetic properties. This dynamic results in astounding and unique three-dimensional images that provide fascinating depth effects within seconds. For higher durability, 3D effect hydroglaslack can easily be coated with our grade hydroglasur making it suitable as a design element for tableware.

The 25 series is a heavy-metal free two-component system of waterborne coatings for spray application on glass that contains low volatile organic compounds (VOCs.) These coatings exhibit good glass adhesion while providing good mechanical and chemical resistance.

Vibrantz’s waterborne coatings offer higher performance than ceramic inks and cure at a much lower temperature than glass enamels. Available in a wide range of colors, our coatings provide decorators with the ability to produce an almost infinite number of colors, allowing the creation of innovative designs on various glass container applications.

Additionally, color concentrates can be mixed with base coats to provide further options for on-site color mixing and matching. Once the coating is ready to apply, it has a pot life of about 4 hours.

The 25 Series is available worldwide, except in North America.

Vibrantz’s 221 series is an environmentally-friendly, clear, fast-dry urethane waterborne glass coating in a ready-to-use formula for spray application decoration of glass bottles and containers. This one-component organic waterborne coating system is formulated to provide a durable film with excellent glass adhesion, chemical resistance, and resistance to multiple dishwasher cycles.

Our tintable base/tint system offers 20 tint base colors and various additional decorative effects, including transparent, translucent, frost, metallic, pearlescent, neon, UV-protective, glossy or matte finishes providing decorators with an almost infinite number of design options for innovative glass decoration.
